MOSAIC Arts Alliance Board of Directors

Sam MacKenzie, President
Sam MacKenzie brings to the board the experience of being a member of MOSAIC since 2003 and a passion for art and for education. She is a photographer who works in many other mediums including ceramics, film, and book arts. Sam hopes to strengthen the community of MOSAIC and increase its ties to Vancouver.

Peggy Bird, Vice President
Peggy Bird is a kilnformed glass artisan and current member of the Sixth Street Gallery who joined the board of the MOSAIC Arts Alliance in 2005. She is also a member of the board of the Battle Ground Arts Alliance and was recently voted onto the board of the Washington State Arts Alliance. She brings to the board her five years experience as the executive director of a non-profit organization, a ten-year career with a regional community relations consulting firm and experience serving on theater and youth services boards and commissions.

Becky Magnuson, Treasurer
Becky Magnuson joined Sixth Street Gallery in the fall of 2006 and later that year became a Mosaic Arts Alliance board member. She has been working with kiln formed glass for three years and recently became the owner of Fireborne Creations in Glass, in downtown Portland. She works with several non-profit organizations. Her background includes an extensive career in medical office administration, managed health care, and real estate sales.

Norwood Brown
Norwood Brown is a visual artist and percussionist. He is a founding member of MOSAIC Arts Alliance and has served on the board since 2006. His background includes a BFA from UC San Diego and several years experience as an executive with MCA records. Currently Norwood is the Arts & Music Chair for a nonprofit organization that provides extracurricular opportunities for local school children and he performs with the music group North by Northwest. Norwood is also on the board for the Hough Foundation.

Traci Donahue
Traci Donahue is a graduate of the Art Institute of Seattle, a painter & sculptor, art educator, and is one of the founding members of MOSAIC Arts Alliance. She is currently serving as Education and Community Outreach Director where she has the opportunity to create programs and scholarships for students throughout our region. She is responsible for creating MOSAIC Arts Alliance original mission statement, aiding in applying for MOSAIC's 501(c)3 status, writing grants, and fundraising.

Jada Gilchrist
Jada Gilchrist began volunteering at Sixth Street Gallery in 2005 and joined the MOSAIC Arts Alliance Board in December 2006. She brings to the board her twelve years experience as a small business owner. Jada has a genuine passion for art, and a sincere desire to see MOSAIC Arts Alliance and the Sixth Street Gallery grow and flourish, coupled with willingness to continue donating her time to the gallery to help insure its success.

Leann Johnson
Leann Johnson is a founding member of the Mosaic Arts Alliance. She currently serves as First Vice Chair of the Washington State Arts Commission and will be next in line to serve as chair of the commission. Leann was previously the Cultural Services Manager for the City of Vancouver, functioning as the city's public art/cultural grants administrator and manager of the City of Vancouver Cultural Commission. Currently Leann is the Director for Equity and Diversity at Clark College. Artistic pursuits include poetry writing, drumming, and community theater.

Ron Jones
Ron Jones is a founding member of MOSAIC Arts Alliance and is currently serving as Secretary. He has also served over a year as Vice President. Ron has a tremendous amount of energy and positive attitude which adds needed perspective to the MOSAIC Board of directors. Having a background in microelectronics management he is able to work well with groups and understands the multi-tasking of Board decisions.

Brooke Keitel

Erin Denerink Madarang Erin Dengerink Madarang joined the Mosaic Arts Alliance board in 2006. She is a painter and installation artist who has shown in both the Bay Area and the Northwest. She has over ten years experience working in the arts. In recent years her accomplishments have included: painting a mural in Uptown Vancouver, participating in curating the artwork in the Southwest Washington Medical Center Firstenburg tower, and collaborated with glass artist Jane Cote in the creation of the 2006 YMCA woman of achievement award.
